GreenAir worked with Jasmax and Fytogreen Australia to design, build and install the 500 square metre internal Green Façade at 141 Cambridge Terrace in Christchurch. The new 6-storey office building overlooks the Avon River and consists of a north and south atrium, with each atrium spanning 16 metres wide x 17 metres high. The atrium roof has 95% UV block-out which causes the natural light level to be less than desirable.
This project was created in partnership with Fytogreen Australia and Tensile Design and Construct. To learn more about our International Collaboration click Here.
The Green Façade design brief was to provide an organic growth form with ascending and descending foliage from top to bottom. 200 plants were pre-grown in our Auckland facility, and consequently shipped to Christchurch for installation. GreenAir continues to work with Southbase Construction and the client representative to ensure the green façades meet our 5-year plan.
The custom-built light-weight planter boxes were made to fit within a narrow opening, at different levels and heights throughout the atrium. Stainless steel wires and connections were designed to be placed at 600mm centres running from top to bottom.
