Lion provide many of Australia and New Zealand’s leading food and beverage brands and employ almost 7,500 people across the two countries. Passionate about quality and understanding the value of plants to workplace wellbeing, the Lion team in Auckland were seeking a fresh approach for their head offices.
Lion selected GreenAir as their new supplier because of an unbeatable service reputation and shared commitment to quality. The brief was to provide new, attractive plants for the Auckland head office and to work with their interior design company, Creative Spaces, on projects in the office staircase, bar and main office areas.
GreenAir worked with Creative Spaces through the design phase and helped bring both parties’ ideas to reality, developing a unique solution. The feature internal green wall façade is 6 meters tall x 2.6 wide. This architectural wire structure was conceived for the large industrial staircase area, adding striking organic texture. It starts at the ground level and runs up the stairwell to the ceiling with coverage of over 15 square meters. Plants were first selected on the natural available light levels and for health benefits as well as striking visual appeal. After just 8 weeks the green wall plants shown here were well established and at 2m of their final 6m plus height.
The living green wall façade in the stair area is an attention-grabbing feature against its industrial backdrop. The planters, throughout the bar and office, break up the spaces and provide screening, reducing noise and visual disturbance for the team. The plants also help reduce VOC levels in the air, delivering a healthier workplace.
"I am very pleased with the final products and the feedback from the staff and Creative Spaces has all been positive … other benefits with having natural plants versus fake is also good for the staff working environments."
